Our Mission Statement

The Brainerd Basketball Association is a community based volunteer organization that creates positive opportunities for youth to develop personal and technical basketball skills. The Association provides an avenue for kids to improve their basketball skills, learn important life lessons (sportsmanship, teamwork, work ethic), and compete with teams from around the state. A traveling league is offered through the Association. It requires a greater commitment, in that each participant is expected to attend all practices and weekend tournaments.

This opportunity is for all kids who have aspirations of playing basketball at a higher level. Involving the Brainerd Varsity basketball coaches, this program will provide an extended competitive season and more practice time for boys and girls grades 4 - 8.

At the traveling age levels, emphasis is placed on team development and equal playing time is not guaranteed. Winning is not the primary focus, however, emphasis is placed on competing and striving to win.

• Develop players and teams that are able to compete at a higher level.

• Encourage and foster player participation for the full length of a player's youth sports career.

• Foster the importance of teamwork and the understanding that all team members play an integral part in the success of the team.

• Promote skill development and create a positive self-esteem for every player.
